Char is collector-grade oud: double to triple super grade Vietnamese agarwood, carefully hand-cleaned to reveal the dense, resin-rich wood beneath. Every piece is covered in the fine, dark speckling of resin that collectors look for, the mark of truly exceptional agarwood.

Warm a piece and it opens with a vibrant sweetness, touched with floral hints and a subtle cool, almost minty lift. The heart deepens into rich woods and earthiness, warmed by soft spice reminiscent of cinnamon and clove. We travel to Vietnam to find our oud and the people behind it. Those direct relationships are how we buy today: we select every batch ourselves, and upon arrival, each piece is inspected by hand for resin and quality, then weighed and packed for your order.

How to enjoy

Warm a small piece on mica over charcoal, or on an electric burner set low. Gentle heat draws out the resin slowly and lets the sweetness unfold. A single small piece is often enough to perfume a room.

Char is an exceptional raw material for your own creations. Break off small pieces for a truly premium homemade bakhoor, or use it in natural perfumery, such as oud tinctures and infusions, where its sweet, balsamic richness carries through beautifully.

A few notes
